How Abacus IT handles your personal information

This notice explains what happens to the details you give Abacus IT through this website. It was last updated on 9 October 2026.

Who we are

Abacus IT provides IT support, cyber security, phones and AI services to businesses in South and West Wales. We are responsible for the personal details described here. You can contact us about privacy at the email address at the foot of every page.

What we collect

When you send the contact form we receive what you type into it:

  • your name, business name, email address and phone number
  • your town and roughly how many people work in your business
  • what you need help with, and anything you write in the message box

We do not use cookies or tracking on the public website, and we do not run advertising or analytics scripts.

Why we use it

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry, book the check you asked for and, if you become a client, to provide our services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries you send us, and, for clients, the contract between us.

We will not send you marketing unless you ask us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for 12 months and then delete them, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as you are a client and for six years afterwards, for accounting and legal reasons.

Who else handles it

The website and its database are hosted by Cloudflare, which stores the details on our behalf. The text on the site uses fonts served by Google Fonts, which receives your browser’s address when a page loads. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email us and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
