Cyber Essentials certification, prepared and submitted with you
Cyber Essentials is the government-backed scheme that shows your business has the core security controls in place. Councils, larger clients and a growing number of insurers ask for it. We carry out the technical work, complete the assessment with you and submit it to the certification body.
- 1
Gap assessment against the five controls
We review every device, account, firewall and router against the five Cyber Essentials controls and report what needs to change.
- 2
Remediation of settings and devices
We correct configurations, switch on two-step sign-in and bring every device and application up to date.
- 3
Assessment completed and submitted
We complete the assessment questionnaire with you and submit it to the certification body.
- 4
Certification and annual renewal
You receive your certificate to share with clients and insurers, and we contact you a month before renewal is due.
Common questions about cyber security and Cyber Essentials
Is Cyber Essentials a legal requirement?
No. It is required by many public sector contracts, larger clients and some insurers, and it is a sound baseline for any business that holds client data.
What is the difference between Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials is a verified self-assessment. Cyber Essentials Plus adds a hands-on technical audit by an assessor. Most small businesses start with Cyber Essentials.
What happens if our business is hacked?
Call us straight away. We secure the affected accounts, establish what was accessed, restore data from backup and help you decide who needs to be informed.
Can you certify us if you do not manage our IT?
Yes. The Cyber Essentials package is available on its own, and we work alongside your current IT provider if you have one.
